Engineering Entrance Exams
Engineering Entrance Exams have always been the hot choice for millions of higher secondary students, who dream to pursue attractive careers in Engineering. Most of the national as well as state level Engineering Entrance Tests like JEE (Main & Advanced), IIITs, NITs, GFTIs and for other Engineering Colleges of India.
Usually, the syllabus of the entrance tests is based on the NCERT courses outline of class XI and XII. The motto of almost all the entrance tests is to assess the fundamental concepts of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, and their varied applications; but the questions being asked now a day are a bit tricky.
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common engineering entrance examination of objective pattern which is conducted for admission in various engineering colleges and courses all over the country. It is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging engineering admission tests.
In 2012, the government-run Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that earlier conducted the AIEEE, announced this common examination that replaced the AIEEE andIIT-JEE. JEE consists of two parts, JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
JEE-Advanced is for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs), while the JEE-Main exam is for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). Only the students selected in JEE Mains are eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced. Over 200,000 students are selected each year.
Pattern of some Entrance Exams:
JEE (Main): There are two papers in JEE (Main), Paper-1 for B. Tech and Paper-2 for B.Arch. Paper-1, B. Tech which contains 90 questions; 30 questions from each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each question carries 4 marks with a total 360 marks. There is ¼ negative marking, means 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Duration of the test is 3 hrs.
JEE (Advanced): There are two objective type papers i.e., Paper-I & Paper-II in this exam. Each paper contains 54 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each subject contains 18 questions. Max. Mark is 186 for each paper. There is also negative marking in some sections of this paper. Duration of each paper is 3 hrs. Questions are varies from section to section.
