
Overview
Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2017 will be conducted on 02/04/2017 (Sunday) by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) etc. as per the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, Notification.
The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through JEE (Main)
website www.jeemain.nic.in.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has notified following two changes in the JEE pattern for 2017:
1. There shall be no weightage for the 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE (Main) examination,
2. For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
States which are participated In IIT JEE Main – There are many states where JEE Main gets conducted. And Participating states are- Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Nagaland & Odisha etc.
Exam Date: Offline : First week of April, Online : Second week of April
Declaration of Result: Last week of April

Important Points for JEE Main 2017
- Aadhar Card is mandatory to apply JEE Main 2017.
- JEE Main 2017 Application Form will be available from 1st December 2016.
- JEE Main Examination is held one time in year.
- There is only three attempts to appear in JEE Main.
- There is no application correction facility in JEE Main application process.
- There is no lateral entry scheme through JEE Main, Admissions are provided only in First Year (First Semester).
- JEE Main 2017 Application form can only be submitted through online mode.
- Candidates who are appearing or passed 12th or equivalent examination can apply for JEE Main 2017.
- To admission in IIT’s, IIIT’s NIT’s and CFTI’s candidates must score at least 75% (for SC/ST 65%) in their qualifying examination (12th Standard)
- The online application process will start: from 01st December, 2016 onwards.
- The last date for application is: 02nd January, 2017
- Fee can be paid upto: 03rd January 2017
- JEE (Main) - Paper-1 (B.E./B. Tech.) [Offline exam]: 02.04.2017
- JEE (Main) - Paper-1 (B.E./B. Tech.) [Online exam]: 08 & 09 April, 2017
- Declaration of Result: Last week of April
- JEE(Main) - Paper-2 (B.Arch./B.Planning) [Offline examination]:02.04.2017
- Date of Birth : The candidates of GEN and OBC must have completed 17 years and he/sheshould not be completed 25 years, the year in which he/she appears for JEE (Main). For the SC / ST / PwD there is a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age.
- Number of Subjects in 12th: Aspirants should have minimum five subjects in 12th/qualifying examination.
- Candidates appearing/passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2015 or 2016 with PCM are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2014 are not eligible to apply.
- Number of Attempts: Candidate can attempt JEE Main exam three times only.
